Is It Halloween Already?

I got such a kick out of seeing Dolly in her "hotdog" costume (see Brenda's blog)! How cute! It got me to thinking about last Halloween when Ally spent Halloween evening at our house. She sat out on the front porch with me all evening as the trick-or-treaters came and went, and of course everyone loved her and had to pet her. She helped me pass out candy and was very polite to everyone who stopped by. That was fun! This year of course she'll be in Chicago with Dave and Rachel - hey kids, will Ally have a costume? If I remember right, I believe Macey will be a fairy princess this year - how about little Kels? Of course I can't wait to see pictures! I think the weather is supposed to warm up, so that will be nice for the little ones. It's so much cooler today that even I was chilly! Ha Ha. You KNOW how often that happens - like never. I really love this time of year - putting new flannel sheets on our bed, lighting the fireplace and burning candles in the house. Puts me in the holiday spirit already! I always feel like once Halloween is over, the holiday season is really upon us.

Katie called the other night to say that she bought a new couch for her living room - I can't wait to see it. She has really decorated her apartment so cute. She will be leaving on Saturday for a few days in San Francisco, to attend a conference for work. It is quite a big event that occurs each year, with special speakers and such. She was excited to find out that the Foo Fighters (I'm so hip, right?) will be there one evening. Have fun, honey!

Well, I can't wait for the Pistons to play their first game of the season this week - finally, a team that can actually PLAY pretty well. What a pleasant change. I miss my sports - can't get too excited about the World Series, and of course the Lions don't count.

Aren't these felt Christmas ornaments adorable?

I'm thinking of buying the kit to make them: http://www.rosylittlethings.com/ornaments.html

Not much else going on at the moment, so will sign off for now. Happy Halloween everybody!

Darling graphics and the blog Jean, nice update...way to go. I thought that couch that Katie had in her apartment was pretty good. I slept like a rock on that couch, anyhow, I am happy she has a new one that she likes.
It has been in the 70's here in Portland so you guys should have some good weather on the way. The blazers started thier season by losing our number one draft pick of 2 years ago, Greg Oden fell and hurt his foot. This guy plays 10 minutes total since we obtained him and he is OUT again....Those darn Lakers beat us by 20, but I sure am glad BB is back on TV....

It is true that as soon as Halloween is over, the holiday season will be in full swing! It makes me excited. Jen and I were just talking on the phone today how excited we are to hear Christmas music on the radio. Jen suggested we have a "count down" to the day after Thanksgiving. We look SO farward to that day every year. I see the Pistons just got their first win of the season. I had to laugh at your comment about the Foo Fighters Aunt Jean. You ARE hip. Have fun Katie :)

Nice post - you seem to be updating your blog a bit more frequently :) Ally will not be wearing a costume because she would hate it. I did put her halloween collar on her that you guys bought last year. That only lasted for about one minute (she kept trying to bite it and clawing at her head to get it off - poor baby girl). Dave and I will be going to a Halloween party this Friday (yes, I got him to dress up!) He'll be a doctor and I'm going as a nurse. I know, it's not very original, but it's the best we could do with such short notice. I've also got a Halloween party tomorrow night for my work. Should be fun - we're having a Halloween costume contest (which I will not be taking part in), but still, its nice that people around here get so excited for Halloween! See you next weekend!
